Phase 1: 100 Climate-Smart Villages Across Nigeria

Building a national network of regenerative farming clusters — starting with 100 pilots across 18 states, scaling to 774 LGAs.

What is the AgroGreen Climate-Smart Village (CSV) Program?

The AgroGreen CSV Program is a scalable solution for rural regeneration — designed to restore degraded soils, boost yields, and empower farmers with clean, climate-resilient methods.

Phase 1: 100 CSVs in 18 states (piloting across Nigeria’s 6 geopolitical zones).
Vision: One Climate-Smart Village per LGA — that’s 774 community-based regenerative hubs.

Each CSV includes:

✅ A 1-acre demo farm using zero-poison AgroGreen inputs

✅ 20–50 participating cooperative farmers with 1,000–5,000sqm plots

✅ Youth-led digital monitoring, training hubs, and post-harvest aggregation

Statistics Highlight

AgroGreen’s CSV Program is designed for both scale and depth. In the first phase, 100 Climate-Smart Villages will be deployed across Nigeria’s diverse agroecological zones, serving as strategic pilots for wider replication.

Each CSV cluster engages 20 to 50 cooperative farmers, who implement regenerative techniques on their own farms. These members are supported with practical tools, training, and cooperative-led structures to ensure real impact on yields and livelihoods.

At the heart of every cluster is a 1-acre regenerative demonstration farm, showcasing key innovations including composting trenches, biochar application, Humi[K] WSP® foliar nutrition, and moisture-conserving planting methods — all proven to rebuild soil health and improve climate resilience.

Key Features & Pillars of the AgroGreen CSV Model

The AgroGreen Climate-Smart Village (CSV) Program is anchored on five foundational pillars that work together to deliver sustainable, inclusive, and scalable impact across farming communities:
Envisioning the Future of Farming

🔹 1. Regenerative Agriculture & Organic Inputs

Each CSV promotes zero-poison farming techniques through composting, cover cropping, mulching, biochar, and Humi[K] WSP® organic foliar fertilizer — reviving soil fertility and reducing agrochemical reliance.

🔹 2. Cooperative-Managed Implementation

Rollout and management are coordinated through the AgroGreen Farmers Cooperative Society of Nigeria (AFCSN), structured from Ward to National levels. This ensures ownership, transparency, and accountability at the grassroots.

🔹 3. Youth & Women Inclusion Platforms

Through the AgroGreen Youth Network (AYN) and Women in Green Agriculture (WiGA), young people and women serve as demo leads, training

Expected Impact Metrics

The AgroGreen Climate-Smart Village Program delivers tangible results across social, environmental, and economic dimensions:

👥 Social Impact

  • 200,000+ farming households reached over 3 years

  • 40% participation from youth and women via AYN & WiGA platforms

  • 5,000+ smallholders trained annually on regenerative practices

🌱 Environmental Impact

  • 1,000+ hectares restored through composting, mulching & cover crops

  • 70% reduction in chemical usage via organic alternatives

  • Biochar & composting units installed in each CSV demo farm

💰 Economic Impact

  • 30–50% increase in farm yields from CSV-supported practices

  • ₦200,000+ seasonal income boost per farmer (on average)

  • ₦500M+ annual revenue generated across CSV-linked cooperatives

CSV Cluster Rollout Framework

The AgroGreen CSV Program follows a phased, community-first deployment model designed to ensure participation, sustainability, and scalability:

1️⃣ Community Mobilization & Sensitization

Initial engagements with local stakeholders, including farmers, traditional leaders, youth/women groups, and cooperative chapters.

2️⃣ Demo Farm Setup & Member Mapping

Each CSV begins with a 1-acre regenerative demonstration farm, followed by the identification and mapping of 20–50 member farmers within the village cluster.

3️⃣ Input Distribution & Regenerative Planting

Selected farmers receive AgroGreen’s starter kits (Humi[K] WSP®, compost base, seeds, biochar), alongside training in regenerative techniques and planting schedules.

4️⃣ On-field Training & Technical Support

Farmers are guided through seasonal practices by AYN and WiGA-trained field assistants, with regular field visits, peer reviews, and monitoring using digital dashboards.

5️⃣ Harvest Aggregation & Market Linkage

Produce is collected through local aggregation hubs managed by the cooperative, linking farmers to buyers, processors, and export pipelines.

6️⃣ Monitoring, Replication & Scaling

Lessons from each CSV are documented, celebrated (e.g., CSV Awards), and replicated in nearby villages, scaling the program in clusters across LGAs and states.

MEL & Governance

AgroGreen’s Climate-Smart Village (CSV) Program embeds accountability and learning at every stage, supported by a structured hybrid governance system.

🔍 Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

Our MEL system ensures transparency, continuous learning, and data-driven decision-making at all levels:

📅 Monthly field records collected by CSV support teams

📱 Youth-led digital tracking via the AgroGreen Youth Network (AYN)

📊 Quarterly state-level reports aggregated and reviewed

📈 Partner dashboards and national MEL reports prepared by AgroGreen HQ

🏆 CSV Awards & Post-Harvest Reflections promote adaptive learning and community pride

🏢 Governance Structure

Execution of the CSV Program is coordinated across two complementary arms:

  • AgroGreen Farmers Cooperative Society (AFCSN) manages grassroots mobilization and cooperative oversight — from Ward to National levels
  • AgroGreen Dynamics Ltd leads technical implementation, innovation, and training support

Each CSV cluster is anchored by:

  • A trained Demo Farmer (host)
  • AYN/WiGA youth assistants for field support
  • Cooperative Field Monitors for oversight and reporting

Logistics, input flow, and aggregation systems are organized at the LGA level to ensure efficiency and scalability.

💰 Estimated Budget per CSV Cluster

Budgets may vary by crop mix, local pricing, and community contributions.

📈 Scaling the Impact
